Winter is incomplete without porotas and fried food, and these delectables can be best enjoyed with a dollop of spicy and tangy ‘chutney’! This weekend, ditch your store-bought pickles and whip up a homemade red chilli ‘chutney.’ With only a few ingredients and simple steps, the recipe is super easy to follow and the result is as mouth-watering as it gets.
Ingredients:
· Red chillies
· Shallots
· Tamarind
· Curry leaves
· Salt
Method:
· Heat some oil in a kadhai. Add a handful of red chillies and saute lightly. Take the chillies out and keep them aside.
· Add chopped onions to the oil and saute. Add a dollop of tamarind pulp. When the onions get a light brown colour, take them out of the oil.
· Take the sauteed red chillies and onions in a bowl. Add some curry leaves and salt to taste. Grind the ingredients until you have a fine paste-like consistency. Finish by adding a little bit of oil and mix well. Your chutney is ready!
