Try this ‘pie-fect’ shortcrust pastry recipe

Follow these five steps and you’ll have yourself a lip-smacking buttery crust

Bigger Bolder Baking has a recipe that will help you bake a pie crust that nails the flaky-gooey-crunchy consistency!

Ingredients:

  • All purpose flour: 200 gms
  • Butter: 200 gms
  • Sugar: 2 tbsp
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Egg Yolk: 1
  • Water: 1 tablespoon

Method:

1. Pulse the butter, sugar, salt and flour together until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. 

2. Pulse it together again till it reaches a desired consistency.  

3. Roll it in a cling wrap and chill for 30 mins. 

4. Take it out on a flat surface while making sure the dough doesn’t stick.

5. Place it in the mould and your pie crust is ready to bake!
