Upon crossing the pre-function area, you will arrive at The Murano Ballroom. Spread across approx 6,000sq ft, this section derives its name from the stunning bespoke Murano glass chandelier with a floral motif adorning the ceiling that took one-and-a-half years to be made.

Adding to the bouquet of niche banquets in the city is the brand new The Almond in Sector V, from the house of The Grid. Spread across 30,000sq ft with lush grand interiors, this pillar-less banquet aims to marry class, service and a great experience. “We always wanted to open a banquet. When we had seen the place where The Grid is now, we had a banquet in mind. But the space was too small for a banquet. So we opened the brewery and kept our search for a good venue on for a banquet. This space is strategically located in Salt Lake, Sector V, the corporate and banqueting hub. Built to host events of a capacity ranging from 200 to 1,000 people in their different ballrooms. The Almond is all set to redefine banqueting with five-star experience,” said Gaurav Karnani, managing director. The space is divided into various zones and are equipped with lounges, offering a culinary experience to celebrate any occasion.

So, why call the place The Almond? “Almond signifies positivity, luxury, richness and holds an auspicious value and we have kept the colour of almond as a dominant colour too in the form of wood,” said Gaurav and Ritika Karnani (director) as they took us for an exclusive walkthrough.

The Telegraph loved

• Absolutely pillar-less with five different zones and a massive ceiling height. Ample parking space and a covered driveway porch.

• Three separate lounges that can cater as a bridal room, “room of requirement” and a chill place where you can change or catch a nap.

• Modular buffet tables and cool levitating “floating” plates.

• Service. The staff is prompt, well-mannered and groomed (they have an in-house grooming section too). The dual kitchen in the banquet aid in quick service too.

• Food! Nothing satisfies the heart like a good meal. From exotic cuisines to Indian classics, the vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu can be customised.
