Two persons were killed and two critically injured when an allegedly mentally unstable man attacked them with the lever of a tube well on Basanti highway in North 24-Parganas late on Tuesday.
Laxman Routh, 29, and Sajan Mollah, 27, died of head injuries. Haripada Pramanik and Mithun Pramanik are admitted to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Nazat police under North 24-Parganas district arrested suspected killer Bokul Kalam, 32. He was produced in a court on Wednesday and remanded in 10-day police custody.
A police officer said: “The reason behind the attack isn’t clear. Police sources said Kalam had been arrested several times for rowdy acts and murder attempts.
