Red Road will be closed for vehicles for the Republic Day parade till the event ends around 11am on Wednesday. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, chief minister Mamata Banerjee, senior officers of the Eastern Command and senior representatives of the state administration and Kolkata police are expected to attend the parade.

Traffic restrictions: Vehicles will not be allowed on Hospital Road, Lovers Lane, Casuarina Avenue, Kidderpore Road, Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Kingsway, Queensway, Plassey Gate Road, Dufferin Road, Outram Road, Esplanade ramp and Government Place (West) from Wednesday morning till the parade is over and Red Road is opened for traffic.
Police arrangements: Red Road and the adjoining areas will be divided into 11 zones, each under the supervision of an officer of the rank of deputy commissioner. There will be nine sand bunkers and 26 patrol vans, 12 heavy radio flying squad vehicles, six watch towers and 1,100 additional personnel on Red Road on Wednesday.
Weather: The sky on Wednesday is likely to be partially cloudy with sunny phases in between. According to the weather forecast, there is very little chance of a drizzle.
