The state primary education board uploaded model answers of all questions in the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET), which was held in January, on its website on Wednesday night.

It has also invited “comments” from the candidates on the uploaded answers within seven days starting Thursday.

A notice signed by the board’s secretary, R.C. Bagchi, says: “Comments are to be dropped into the drop box, to be kept at the main entrance of the office at Sector-2 Salt Lake between 11am and 5pm on all working days.”

About 2.5 lakh candidates had written the exam in January.

A photocopy of the question booklet containing four choices for each question and that of the OMR (optical mark recognition) sheet containing the answers — deemed as correct by the board — has been uploaded on www.wbbpe.org.

“If any candidate files a comment (objection) challenging the model answer with a detailed explanation and our experts find merit in it,

the answer script will be evaluated accordingly. We have introduced the system to make the evaluation more transparent,” said Manik Bhattacharya, the president of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.

A candidate wondered why the board had not kept any option of sending objections through email.

“Suburban trains have not yet resumed. It would be difficult for those from districts to travel to Salt Lake to submit the response,” he said.

A board official said since the transport situation had improved, they thought of seeking response offline.

“The board is likely to post the final answer keys before the publication of result,” he said.

After going through the responses, and incorporating the challenges based on merit, the results will be published before Puja, said Bhattacharya.
