S.K. German bags top honours at the 2023 BGA Caddies’ League

The third edition of the tournament at Tollygunge Club involved 117 caddies

The third edition of the BGA Caddies’ League, organised by the Bengal Golf Association, took place on June 12 at Tollygunge Club. A total of 117 caddies from various golf clubs across West Bengal participated in this highly anticipated golf tournament.

In a display of remarkable skill and precision, S.K. German from the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) emerged as the champion, securing the coveted championship title. German's outstanding performance yielded an impressive score of 70, which matched the par score for the course. Following closely behind was M.D. Sanjid, another talented caddie golfer from RCGC, who finished in second place with a score of 71, just one stroke over par.

This engaging tournament not only showcased the exceptional golfing abilities of these caddies but also offered them the opportunity to vie for 15 cash prizes, each awarded based on the players’ final positions.

Vikramjit Singh, from Rawmet Resources Pvt Ltd, and president of BGA; Anil Bhargava, vice- president of BGA; Dipak Burma, treasurer of BGA; Manoj Joshi, golf captain of Tolly; Deep Banerjee, golf captain of RCGC; Rohan Ghosh, vice captain of Tolly; Sreyon Chatterjee, vice captain of Tolly; Brig Ganapathy, CEO of Tolly; and Gaurav Pundir, head of Golf Department at Tolly, were present to give away the prizes.

The tournament was sponsored by Rawmet Resources Pvt Ltd, supported by the Dr Bani Chaudhuri Memorial Trust, and managed by Protouch Sports.
