The judicial custody of former state minister Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee, who are in custody for alleged money laundering in connection with illegal recruitments in schools, was extended till April 19 on Tuesday.
The two, who were arrested eight months ago, were produced in a special CBI court virtually.
Chatterjee is lodged at Presidency jail and Mukherjee at the Alipore Correctional Home for women.
Both sought bail citing their health. Chatterjee, apart from citing his ailments, submitted that the infrastructure in the jail was inadequate to accommodate 2,500 inmates.
Manik Bhattacharya, a former president of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, filed a bail prayer on Monday. He is in judicial custody in connection with the job scam.
