Metro to run early service on Sunday to facilitate WBCS examinees

Metro Railway, Kolkata has announced that the first service on Sunday, May 22, will be run at 7am instead of the usual 9am.

The change in timings has been to facilitate West Bengal Civil Service (Mains) examinees.

Timings for the last Metro remain unchanged.

The Metro authorities made the announcement on social media on Friday.

Twin trains from West Bengal to Bangladesh to resume from May 29

Two trains between Kolkata and Bangladesh, grounded since the start of the pandemic, will resume their journeys on May 29, said railway officials. The Maitree Express runs between Chitpore and Dhaka, via the Gede-­Darsana border.The Bandhan Express runs between Chitpore and Khulna via the Petrapole-­Benapole border. "Services of both the Dhaka­bound Maitree Express and the Khulna-bound Bandhan Express will resume on May 29. Ticket booking for these trains will be notified shortly," said an official of Eastern Railway.
