Two brothers who had been arrested for allegedly running fraudulent call centres earlier this month and later released on bail, were rearrested on Tuesday.

The brothers, from Howrah’s Liluah, own multiple call centres in the city.

This time, they were arrested after the Bidhannagar commissionerate raided a call centre operating out of Salt Lake’s AL Block. Investigators said they had traced the ownership of the call centre to Shashi Gaurav Soni and his brother Sourabh. They were picked up from Howrah’s Liluah.

They had been arrested earlier on March 5 and a Barrackpore court had granted them bail.

Police had earlier seized two SUVs and nearly Rs 4 crore from two flats in New Town’s Sankalpa housing complex that had allegedly been stashed by the two and their associates.

On Tuesday, the brothers were produced before a court in Salt Lake and sent to an eight-day police remand.
