The Celsius is on the rise again and the Met department has hinted at a possibility of rain in the city on Thursday.
“There is a possibility of light rain in Kolkata on Thursday. The intensity, spread and duration of the rain is likely to be on the higher side in the western districts of Bengal. Kolkata is unlikely to see anything beyond light rain,” said a Met official.
The minimum and maximum temperatures on Tuesday were 14.9 and 26.4 degrees Celsius. Both were a couple of notches below normal but the day felt warm and the afternoon sun seemed unkind at times.
The temperature in Kolkata is tipped to reach around 16-17 degrees over the next two days.
“After the rain, if any, the temperature will come down slightly and settle in the 15-degree range for a couple of days. It will again start rising after that,” the official said.
