Jadavpur University committee
Jadavpur University has constituted an eight-member committee to find out who was involved in the alleged harassment of the head of the chemistry department last week, said a JU official. A leader of the Siksha Bandhu Samity, a wing of the employees’ union affiliated to the Trinamul Congress, was showcaused last week because of his alleged involvement in the incident.
Rowing course
The water body at Captain Bheri off EM Bypass is set to be the second rowing course in Bengal after Rabindra Sarobar. The state fisheries department has chosen the venue to introduce kayaking and rowing.
On Tuesday, some kayaks took to the waters. Rowing boats will soon follow, said Chandan Roy Choudhury of Calcutta Rowing Club, which is providing the equipment and other technical support to the initiative.
