Railway crossing
The railway level crossing near Santoshpur railway station in the Sealdah division will remain closed for emergency maintenance work from 10pm to 6am for four days beginning Tuesday night. Vehicles headed for this level crossing during this time will be diverted, police said.
Airport training
A four-day training programme on preparedness for handling chemical, biological and nuclear emergencies began at the Kolkata airport on Monday, in association with the National Disaster Management Authority. Senior officials are attending the training, which is focussing on the latest techniques for handling various emergencies at airports.
ICSE module on hands-on learning
The ICSE council has developed a module on experiential learning to build awareness on the need for teaching and learning through activities and hands-on experiences. A circular from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to the school heads on Monday said the module was intended to build awareness on the need, scope and relevance of “experiential learning”.
