RBU VC charge

The vice-chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University has alleged that he is encountering a deteriorating situation on the campus created by some non-teaching employees, who claim to be active workers of the ruling party.

VC Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury told media persons that leaders of the employees’ union had forcibly withdrawn the staff who work in the VC’s office. The VC alleged that he found his office locked on Wednesday morning because the staff had been withdrawn.

An official of RBU said this happened because the VC on Monday show-caused an employee, who is a member of Sara Bangla Siksha Bandhu Samity — a wing of the Trinamul Congress — for alleged dereliction of duty. A leader of the union denied the charges.
