CU exam notice
Calcutta University has posted a notice on its website saying undergraduate students scheduled to write the first semester exams next month are barred from carrying mobile phones and other communication devices to the test centres. It said any violation will lead to disciplinary action against the candidates, who may be barred from writing any tests at CU in future.
Convocation
West Bengal State University, Barasat, has decided to hold its convocation on April 26 after a gap of four years. Colleges in North 24-Parganas are affiliated to the university.
Shop fire in Beckbagan
A confectionery shop on the ground floor of a six-storeyed residential-cum-commercial building caught fire early on Wednesday. Five fire tenders doused the flames. Police said no one was injured.
