Dengue workshop
Less than 80 of the 144 councillors of the Kolkata municipal area attended a workshop on vector-borne diseases organised by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation on December 3.
The workshop at Town Hall was held to discuss ways to tackle dengue, malaria and other vector-borne diseases.
Balcony collapse
A 45-year-old resident of Raja Debendra Narayan Deb Lane in Hatkhola, Sanjoy Sarkar, suffered injuries on his head when concrete chunks fell on him from the top-floor balcony of a five-storey building on BK Pal Avenue on Friday evening, police said. Sarkar, who was walking on the road below, was admitted to a private hospital off EM Bypass, police said.
