Applications for 4-year UG from July 1
The higher education department has asked colleges and universities to receive application forms from July 1 for the four-year undergraduate programme through the online portal of the respective institutions.
GSI chief
Janardan Prasad assumed charge as the 52nd director general of the 174-year-old Geological Survey of India on Thursday. He succeeded S. Raju, who had been the director general of GSI since May 2022.
Chunk falls
A 22-yearold man was injured after a concrete chunk from the top floor of a four-storeyed building in Sapgachi Lane in Tiljala came off and fell on him on Friday afternoon. Mohammad Nooruddin, a resident of the building, was treated at the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital, police said.
