Kolkata Traffic Police have posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Saturday (21.1.2023).

  • 1pm: A meeting at Rani Rashmoni Avenue

***12 noon: Earlier procession from the Sealdah railway station complex may avail Beliaghata Main Road, AJC Bose Road, Moulali crossing, SN Banerjee Road, Dorina crossing and finally converge at Rani Rashmoni Avenue***12 noon: Earlier procession from Howrah railway complex may avail Howrah Bridge, Brabourne Road, Indian Exchange Place, Rabindra Sarani, Bentinck Street, KC Das and finally converge at Rani Rashmoni Avenue

  • 1pm to 8pm: Programme at Netaji Indoor Stadium
  • 12 noon: Programme in front of the main gate of College Square

***1pm: Procession from Yogayog Bhawan to College Square via Jadu Nath Dey Road – Nirmal Chandra Street – College Street

***1.30pm: Sealdah railway station to College Square via Sealdah flyover and Mahatma Gandhi Road

Celsius dip

The Celsius slid three notches to 13.3 degrees on Friday. Two western disturbances approaching northwest India will stall the north-westerly winds, which made a brief comeback to the city on Friday. “The maximum temperature is likely to knock on the doors of 30,” said a Met official.

Metro services on January 23

Metro Railway will run a curtailed fleet on Monday, Netaji’s birth anniversary and a holiday, the carrier said. In the New Garia-Dakshineswar corridor, the carrier will run 234 trains, instead of 288. The first will leave Dum Dum andNew Garia at 6.50am.The last train from Dum Dum will start at 9.40pm. From New Garia, the last Dakshineswar-bound train will start at 9.30pm and the last Dum Dum-bound train at 9.40pm.

The first and last trains from Dakshineswar will start at 7am and 9.28pm.
