Baguiati eye hospital fined
The West Bengal Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission on Thursday imposed a penalty of Rs 2 lakh on Swasti Eye Care and Superspecialty Clinic in Baguiati for operating a tube that was not related to an ectopic pregnancy. The patient’s discharge summary mentioned that the surgery was done on the left tube. But the surgery was actually done on the right tube. Ashim Banerjee, chairperson of the commission, said the doctor said the right tube, too, had problems and he could not get access to the other tube.
