Passport
All Passport Seva Kendras under the Regional Passport Office, Kolkata, will remain open on November 5 only to facilitate applications for police clearance certificates, said passport officials on Thursday. Applicants who have already taken appointments for PCCs can reschedule their appointments for November 5.
New applicants can apply online and book their slot for PCCs on November 5 through the official website www.passportindia.gov.in.
Counselling for BTech seats
The higher education department issued an order on Thursday evening allowing institutes to conduct independent counselling to fill BTech seats thatare vacant after the centralised counselling conducted by the state JEE board. Institutions like Jadavpur University and private engineering colleges now have to fix the dates for their independent counselling, in accordance with the guidelines of the department.
