Heatwave alert
A Met bulletin on Thursday predicted that "enhanced rainfall activity" would continue in north Bengal till June 19. South Bengal will continue to be parched, the bulletin said. South Bengal districts like Bankura, Jhargram, Purulia and West Midnapore are likely to have heat wave conditions.
The situation in south Bengal is likely to change from June 19, when the conditions are expected to turn favourable for the onset of the monsoon, it said.
