Mobile patrol unit spotted children roaming around in Beraberi

Two children who were allegedly playing in front of their home were found by a police team around 2.5km away from the area in Narayanpur on Saturday afternoon.

An officer of the Bidhannagar commissionerate said the two had somehow managed to escape their parents’ watch and had walked to the main road near their house.

From here the two had walked and got on some sort of public transport before they were dropped off near Ghoshpara in Beraberi on the fringes of Rajarhat.

A mobile patrol unit spotted the children roaming around in Beraberi.

The cops on board the patrol van stopped the vehicle when they saw the boys were unattended.

“They were on the road without any guardian or parent around,” said a police officer.

“The team spent nearly half an hour looking for their parents in the area. When they could not spot anyone, they took the kids to the Narayanpur police station,” said the officer.

By this time, the parents of the children were already at the Narayanpur police station.

“We handed the children over to their parents after they were able to produce their identity documents and the birth certificates of the boys,” said a senior officer o f Narayanpur police station.
