In an attempt to make a breakthrough, the police on Monday said Ayan’s mobile phone could lead them to solve the case. The cops believe that the victim’s cell phone may have some important chats, visuals etc which might help them to decode the case soon.
The cops said while dumping his body in Magrahat, the driver or Ayan’s girlfriend’s brother snatched his phone and dumped it in order to ‘wipe out’ vital clues. They said this based on the probe so far. The police said, Ayan’s phone may have some objectionable photographs which may have led to the brawl between him and his girlfriend’s family.
It may be recalled that it was alleged that Ayan had an illicit relationship with his girlfriend’s mother and he had allegedly blackmailed the family with these photographs.
On Monday afternoon, the police took both the arrested driver and Ayan’s girlfriend's brother to search for the phone, especially at the site from where the body was found. The arrested persons apparently told the police that they were so drunk on the fatal night that they still could not ascertain where they had dumped the phone. Meanwhile, the cops could not trace the phone’s location till now. They are yet to procure Ayan’s call list.
