The state higher secondary council has announced that they will make “special considerations” while evaluating the answer scripts if required.

A statement signed by council president Chiranjeeb Bhattacharya and issued after the HS exams ended on Wednesday says: “This year considering the interest of the examinees, we came up with multiple sets of alternative questions. Never was this done before. Irrespective of this, we will have provisions for special considerations while evaluating the scripts as and when it would be felt necessary.”

He declined comment when asked whether the council would ask the examiners to be lenient while evaluating scripts.

The HS examinees this year wrote their papers at their respective schools for the first time in the history of the school-leaving exams.

Teachers, too, were on invigilation duty at their respective schools, unlike the system followed by other boards that conduct exams at home centres but deploy teachers from other institutions on invigilation duty.

The HS council said in the statement: “There was no scope of copying or any other disruption following the alertness displayed by the invigilators… and venue supervisors.”

The council president said the results would be published in June. “The date will be announced later,” he said.

Purse returned

A purse, found on the platform at Girish Park Metro station on Tuesday, was returned to its owner.

An RPF jawan found the purse and brought it to the station master’s cabin.

After a series of announcements across stations, a woman turned up at the station and claimed the purse. “After proper verification, it was handed over to her,” said a Metro official.
