IIT Kharagpur, which is organising this year’s JEE-Advanced, has announced the places where the computer-based test will be held on October 3.
The candidates have been told to wear masks and carry sanitiser. The details have been uploaded on the website of IIT Kharagpur.
Candidates have to choose among eight cities/towns during the online registration between September 11 and 16.
“Efforts will be made to allot the city/town from among the candidate’s choice so that the candidate is not required to travel much amid the Covid-induced travel restrictions,” said an official of IIT Kharagpur.
The test centres have been split under specific zones — IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorke, IIT Delhi and IIT Hyderabad.
“The final list of examination cities/towns would be notified in the registration portal before the start of the online JEE (Advanced) 2021 registration,” says the information brochure.
IIT Kharagpur had postponed the test from July 3 to October 3 because of a resurgence in Covid cases in summer.
“In case the COVID pandemic situation persists during JEE (Advanced) 2021 all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to maintaining social distancing etc., as directed by the central and state governments as well as the local authorities, must be strictly followed,” says the brochure.
The exam comprises two papers. Paper 1 is from 9am to noon and paper 2 from 2.30 to 5.30pm. Both papers are compulsory.
Candidates among the top 2,50,000 in the JEE (Main) 2021 are eligible for the advanced exam.
The online display of provisional answer keys is scheduled on October 10. Candidates will give feedback and comments on provisional answer keys from October 10 to 11. The final answer keys and results will be declared online on October 15.
The seat allotment process will begin from October 16.
