For 2024-25, the university has introduced a new scholarship for students who top in academics in their respective schools in Class XII.

Established in 2011, the university is spread across a 286-acre residential campus with approximately 3,000 students and 250-plus faculty members. It was awarded the ‘Institution of Eminence’ status in 2022. Many of its distinguished faculty hail from Kolkata.

While addressing the media in Kolkata, Partha Chatterjee, dean of academics and professor in the department of economics at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, said: “We are excited to see the overwhelming response from Kolkata across our programmes and have seen significant growth in terms of applications every year. There is a great talent pool in West Bengal and we have observed that students from this region excel in a diverse range of programmes, be it in humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, engineering or management. We look forward to welcoming many more excellent students this year.”

Last year, graduates from the university were recruited by leading organisations, including Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, PwC, UBS, Palo Alto, Silicon Labs, McKinsey, L&T, Airbus, Honda and JK Tyres among others.

The university presses on learning beyond the classroom, with 50-plus clubs and societies. Some of the popular clubs include collaborative design for sustainability, Model United Nations, artificial Intelligence, photography, robotics, and many more. It also has sporting infrastructure and offers a choice of activities to students. These include a 90,000-square feet indoor sports complex and 5,71,410 square feet of international-standard outdoor playing fields and multiple options, including squash, badminton and equestrian training.

The application form is available on the university’s official website. http://www.snu.edu.in/home
