Conclave on communications to be hosted in Kolkata

It will have over 350 participants

A two-day conclave on communications, slated to start in the city on Friday, will have over 350 participants.

The Global Communication Conclave, hosted by the Public Relations Council of India, in association with The Telegraph, will have engaging sessions on effective communication, inside an organisation and between a brand and its target audience.

The conclave will also award “outstanding achievers”.

The theme of the conclave is “Custodians of reputation — building new narrative”.

“Communication is no more a simple exercise. It’s about presenting a new narrative — simple, straight-forward and convincing,” said a note from the organisers.

The conclave will witnesses the presence of corporate honchos, media veterans, academics, event managers, senior marketers and ad gurus, organisers said.

There will be eight panel discussions on various topics.

Aroop Biswas, state minister for power, housing, youth services and sports, is likely to inaugurate the conclave. The keynote address will be delivered by Kanchan Gupta, senior adviser, Union ministry of information and broadcasting.

Dhruba Mukherjee, chief executive officer of ABP Group, the publishers of The Telegraph, Satyam Roy Chowdhury, founder and managing director, Techno India Group, Suman Mukerjee, director-general, The Bhawanipur Education Society College and M.B. Jayaram, chairman emeritus, PRCI, will be the guests of honour.

Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, West Bengal’s minister for agriculture, will be the chief guest at the awards session on Friday evening.
