Calcutta University has extended the deadline for submission of forms for admission to postgraduate courses by two more days following complaints that errors in undergraduate marksheets had required fresh tabulation. By the time students got updated grade cards, the earlier deadline — September 15 — had expired.

A notice issued by the university on Thursday said: “The last date of submission of online application for admission to MA/ MSc (Economics, Archaeology, Museology), M Com… has been extended up to September 17.”

CU published the BA, BSc, BCom final semester exam results on August 31. But many students spotted that the previous semester’s review scores had been excluded from the marksheets, a college principal said.

“After the colleges sent corrected inputs, revised marksheets could be issued. This led to a delay,” said a CU official.

CU published the supplementary results of undergraduate semesters IV and II on September 10 and 13. “The supplementary exam results came late. So, students faced difficulty in submitting the forms by September 15,” said an official.

The merit list will be published on September 20, said VC Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee.

The West Bengal State University, Barasat, too, has extended the deadline for form submission to September 18.
