Burdwan man on office tour found dead in Tollygunge

Police said it was not clear if the man had jumped out or had accidentally fallen through a large window of his room that has no railings

A man who had come to inspect one of the properties enlisted with an online travel portal in Tollygunge was found dead on the footpath adjoining the guest house where he was staying on Tuesday.

Police said it was not clear if the man had jumped out or had accidentally fallen through a large window of his room that has no railings. The room where he was staying was found locked from inside.

Sumanto Ghosh, 37, from West Burdwan, was staying in one of the rooms on the top floor of the four storey guest house on Rajani Sen Road in Mudiali. He was found dead on the footpath in front of the building around 7am on Tuesday.

“He was on an official trip to check the properly that was enlisted with the tour portal he worked for. His body was found on the street below in the morning,” said an officer.

No suicide note was found, said another officer.
