Seven outstanding business leaders and professionals who helped grow companies and build institutions will be feted for their achievements on Saturday evening.
The Healthworld Hospitals presents CMA Management Excellence Awards 2022 in association with The Telegraph and Fairfield By Marriott will be held in New Town on Saturday, 6.30pm.
The Awards, instituted in 2015, recognise outstanding contributions made by management professionals. It honours and celebrates individuals who made a difference in their field through new ideas.
The seven categories of the Awards are: the Business Leadership Award, the Corporate Leadership Award, the Emerging Leader Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Management Hall of Fame Award, the Public Service Award and the Institutional Excellence Award.
“At the Calcutta Management Institute, we promote excellence in the field of management. These awards are an opportunity for us to honour people who have excelled in the field,” said T.V.S. Shenoy, the president of CMA and the chief commercial officer (long products) at Tata Steel.
“All the awardees have a Kolkata or Bengal connection,” he said.
The Business Leadership Award is given to owners of companies who have shown exemplary leadership.
The Corporate Leadership Award is for top-level executives and managers like CEOs and MDs.
The Emerging Leader Award is for someone who is young but has displayed exceptional managerial abilities and promises to go to higher levels in the future.
Every year, a person is inducted into the Management Hall of Fame. Past awardees in this category include former chairperson of State Bank of India Arundhati Bhattacharya and scientist Bikash Sinha, who helped set up the cyclotron centre in Salt Lake.
An eight-member selection committee picked this year’s awardees.
