Come Wednesday, a banquet hall at ITC Royal Bengal will see some of the biggest names in Bengali entertainment vie for top honours.
The Joy presents Anandalok Puraskar 2022 powered by Shyam Steel will be held from 6pm.
The ceremony will cover three platforms — films, television and over-the-top (OTT).
The past two years have been hard for the entertainment industry. Shooting was stalled because of Covid curbs for a long time. The curbs bled single-screen cinemas, but the OTT platform has, not surprisingly, gained a lot of ground.
On Wednesday, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Dev, Jisshu Sengupta, Ritwick Chakraborty and Anirban Bhattacharya will be among the contenders for best male actor trophies. Koel Mallick, Jaya Ahsan, Gargee Roychowdhury, Rukmini Maitra, Sohini Sarkar and Madhumita Sarcar will fight it out for the best female actor awards.
Musical performances by Anupam Roy, Rupankar Bagchi, Lagnajita Chakrabortty and Jeet Ganguly will be the highlights of the programme.
