Actress Priyanka Mondal, who was recently seen in Kamaleswar Mukherjee’s film Anushandhan playing Saswata Chatterjee’s wife, is excited about the release of a new music video (for the song Machhli), where she shares screenspace with Sunny Leone. A candid chat.
Tell us more about the song?
The name of the song is Machhli. It’s a duet sung by Pawni Pandey, who had sung the Laila song from Raees, and Shahid Mallya, who had sung Ikk kudi from Udta Punjab.
How was your experience shooting for the music video?
I was excited from the moment I was cast for a music video by Adil Shaikh and I was even more thrilled to know Sunny Leone was the lead and I will be sharing the screen with her. I was definitely nervous on the day of the shoot but the entire crew was very supportive and understanding. It really cooled off my nerves. I play the character of a queen.
Did you learn new dance steps?
I learnt a couple of important dance techniques from Adil. In one particular shot we were supposed to dance on top of a glass mirror placed in water. The thought of it was frightening and we all were scared to get in the water but Adil taught us how to move on the mirror putting minimum pressure on the mirror.
How was Sunny Leone to work with?
When I saw Sunny for the first time she was in the middle of her shot. Her dance moves and the way she looked in her red sparkly costumes was mesmerising. During the break when she was sitting right across me I was quite apprehensive to start a conversation with her but finally we had a nice little chat and she shared a few trending dance hacks. Her professionalism as well as her down-to-earth nature surely made a mark on me.
What is the storyline?
The story is of a king and queen watching various performances in their royal court. The king gets astonished with one particular artiste’s (Sunny) magical performance. On the other hand the queen looks upset and at the same time intrigued.
