The Rajbari Bawali’s grand dining room decorated with iron chandeliers, lamps and portraits on the wall exudes a sense of heritage grandeur, elevating the classy appeal of the looks. On Swagata, a classic ivory anarkali with hand-textured and hand-embroidered detailing. On Meghna, a full-length corset-style anarkali with hand-embroidered detailing upto the bust, continuing in a simple pleated flow, paired with an embroidered jacket. Pastel chokers, dark lips, wavy front parting create striking minimal-glam looks.

Launched around the beginning of last year, label Prashant Chouhan is an Indian-wear brand championing handcrafted minimalistic clothing. The rich Indian culture, heritage and customs inspire their design aesthetic. Apart from that, the regal fashion of the erstwhile empires in India inspires the hand-crafted embroidered detailing on the ensembles. The label values Indian craft and craftsmanship while contemporising it with its toned-down, minimal appeal. Their pre-festive 2023 collection Sang E Mar Mar is inspired from the marble craft and Mughal architecture. While the tone-on-tone effect highlights the ivory line, the elegant combination of Rani pink with gold enhances the series of pink ensembles. The heritage structure of The Rajbari Bawali property with a dilapidated vibe and make-up pro Abhijit Paul’s retro-inspired styles create the overall looks in this exclusive t2 lookbook, giving a sneak peek ahead of the collection launch today at The Rajbari Bawali with an elaborate cultural programme and zamindari feast. The verandah adorned with cane basket ceiling lights forms the perfect backdrop. A sleek hairstyle, with dark lips and matching eyeshadow complete the look.

Right: “Inspired by the rich marble art of India and Mughal architecture, our new pre-festive collection 2023 is beautifully designed for the upcoming festive season. Made on soft silk with tone-ontone hand embroidery, we have tried to give it a vintage look. As a brand we have always tried our best to bring together the crafts of India and work around creating handcrafted festive wear for the women of today,” said Prashant Chouhan, designer

Left: The Rani pink ensembles add a fresh vibe in the otherwise ivory palette of the collection. Meghna creates a portrait of subtle elegance with a hint of retro charm. The classic kalidar with front slit, made with a shimmery silk fabric featuring traditional zardozi embroidery, is paired with anklelength straight pants. The middle-parted wavy hair in front with a plaited bun, nude make-up and small bindi complete the look. The brick pillars and the mosaic floor hint at the regal charm of the frame.

Right: “Keeping in mind Prashant’s brand aesthetics and the heritage property backdrop, we chose retro hairstyles ranging from wavy front parting to plaited buns. The white flower garlands not only complement the palette but also give the festive feel. For make-up, the ivory sequence was highlighted with dark lips and the bright Rani pink sequence looks were created with nude shades and kohl eyes,” said Abhijit Paul, make-up pro.
