Stirring a cocktail at home just got a whole lot easier. Kolkata’s latest beverage company Sober & Co, ideated during the lockdown of 2020, brings global flavours to Kolkata’s cocktail shakers with a line of unique mixers.
“We aim to introduce new flavours to Kolkata’s cocktails market. People can sip on a freshly made Gimlet or Cosmopolitan anytime in any restaurant in the city. But we figured that when people are drinking at home, they prefer something that’s a little different but still easy to put together. Thus, Sober & Co was born,” says Sharan Kripalani, who helms the start-up along with his brother and co-founder, Nishant Kripalani.
Sober & Co’s line of offbeat cocktail mixers are hand-crafted and ready to drink. Concocted by the Kripalanis and the man who makes ‘moody cocktails for moody people’, Devi Singh, the line includes a total of six flavours. “A lot went into finalising the final flavours. We made sure that there’s something for everyone,” says Nishant.

Whether you like it sweet, spicy or tangy Sober & Co has a drink for you. There's the Australian Sour with green apples and a splash of rosemary; the Spanish Margarita with spicy jalapenos and a hint of fresh lime; the Cuban Spritzer has bittersweet coffee notes; the Mexican Mama packs in a punch of cinnamon; the Caribbean Punch sports a zesty tang and the Goan Mule has an unbeatable flavour. These concoctions are made with fewer calories and zero artificial sweeteners, so don't hesitate before tasting one (or four!).
Sober & Co also offers ‘Sober brunches’ and ‘Sober dinners’. If you’re hosting a d-runch or a sundowner, the boys from Sober & Co will send over a professional bartender (one who’s as cool as Tom Cruise in Cocktail), along with their mixers, to man the bar so you don’t have to lift a finger.
