A unique experience where customers had the opportunity to individually disassemble and reassemble a simple manual IWC Schaffhausen calibre — exclusively designed for watchmaking students under the careful guidance of IWC watchmaker, Furqan Ghole, specially flown in for the masterclass. The attendants gained an insight into the nuances of mechanical watchmaking, and a feel of the skill and precision that is required to manufacture an IWC Schaffhausen movement.

The heritage of IWC is deeply rooted in American pioneering spirit and entrepreneurship. The brand has made a number of historical contributions to the world of horology, like producing the first watch with jumping hours and minutes in 1885. They also created the first W. W. W., a new wristwatch for military use by the British Army in 1944. The brand has six major collections: Portugieser, Portofino, Da Vinci, Ingenieur, Aquatimer and Pilot’s Watches.

Along with the masterclass, guests had the opportunity to discover exquisite timepieces from the brand over cocktails and canapes. The display included iconic collections such as the Big Pilot’s watch, along with timepieces featuring their signature complication — the perpetual calendar. The special selection of exclusively curated timepieces will continue to be displayed at the Ethos Flagship store.
