Within four-and-a-half years of its launch, Hoichoi has scored a century with its Originals, which is focused on one language, Bengali, that caters to over 270 million users worldwide. Now the OTT platform has laid out glimpses of their upcoming line-up of shows from both India and Bangladesh, with more shows joining the list. The new content slate titled “Notun Golpo Hoyejak” was unveiled in the presence of eminent members of the Bengali entertainment industry. “It is a great moment for us at Hoichoi to announce our new slate of upcoming shows along with welcoming the Bengali New Year. We have always aimed to cater to our audience with content that has an impact. Our new line-up of upcoming content for the next six months is a reflection of that idea, filled with suspense, comedy, love, drama, thrill and Bengali’s nostalgia,” said Vishnu Mohta, co-founder of Hoichoi.
Feludar Goyendagiri
Srijit Mukherji hits the chord of nostalgia with Bengal’s fave detective Feluda as he unravels a mystery in this web series (based on the popular story Darjeeling Jawmjawmat). Tota Roy Choudhury plays Feluda.
Srikanto
After Charitraheen, this is another musical retelling of a classic tale by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Srikanto, featuring Rishav Basu as Srikanto and Sohini Sarkar as Rajlokkhi. Srikanto moves from adolescent innocence to complex social and interpersonal moments. “Srikanto has been a journey of rediscovering the eternally celebrated tale of Srikanto and Rajlokkhi in a way that has never been seen before. I am overwhelmed by the response showered by the audience for the music of Srikanto. I am immensely grateful to the director of the show, Sani Ghose Ray and the entire team for making Srikanto this memorable,” said Sohini.
Sampurna
It is a meaningful tale of a woman going against her family for the rights of her sister-in-law. Starring Sohini Sarkar and Rajnandini Paul in pivotal roles, Sampurna narrates the hard-hitting tale of abuse.
Mon2 Pilot
Saurav Das returns as the fan favourite Montu, with the new season of Mon2 Pilot, helmed by Debaloy Bhattacharya. “Montu Pilot is a passion project for me. I have always been excited about experimenting with myself as an actor and being Montu gives me that space every day. I hope the audience gets to see the Montu that they were waiting for,” said Saurav.
Mahabharat Murders
This is a tale of a serial killer who thinks of himself as Duryodhana reborn in the 21st century, on a hunt for the Pandavas and Draupadi. It stars Priyanka Sarkar, Saswata Chatterjee, Arjun Chakrabarty, Kaushik Sen, Rishav Basu, Rajdeep Gupta, Arna Mukhopadhyay, Arpita Ghosh, Riyaa Ganguly and Debasish Mondal.
Dour
Featuring Mosharraf Karim and his wife Robena Reza in the lead, Dour is the story of an intense chase in a car, in Dhaka, which goes on to reveal the conflicted sides of every character of the series.
Kaiser
Created by Tanim Noor, featuring Afran Nisho, Kaiser is about a homicide detective of the same name, from Dhaka, who is addicted to video games, and because of this unhealthy habit, he manages to raise many complications in his personal and professional space. Also, he is scared of blood!
Refugee
This is a story of a drug dealer in Bangladesh who suddenly gets embroiled in a dangerous conspiracy.
