Glimpses from The Haute Indian Wedding

Design den 85 Lansdowne looked paradisiacal on Tuesday evening, decked up with flowers and twinkling lights for The Haute Indian Wedding presented by 85 Lansdowne and curated by the fashion store along with Shantanu Goenka. The ongoing showing aims to bring together wedding solutions under one roof. Baisakhi’s decor conceptualisation and design was definitely the hero of the showcase, lending it an ethereal touch. Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons, Baisakhi Ghosh of Baisakhi’s, Shashvat Dhandhania of To Die For, DJ Vicky (Vicky Metharamani), Dolly Jain, Rivvaz by Rinku Choudhary, Lensocrat by Rajesh Gupta, Ripple Effect by Sanjanaa Ajmera and Emerald Events by Nidhi Poddar, were the partners of the showcase.

The Haute Indian Wedding is on till August 25 at 85B Sarat Bose Road, 11am-7pm.

Silverware and gift items from Rivvaz by Rinku Choudhary were beautiful. She showcased a collection with silver and meena. The Palace of Versailles was an inspiration.

Shalini Nopany (left), director, 85 Lansdowne, and Pooja Goenka, wholetime director, 85 Lansdowne, were bowled over by the final execution. “When I saw the place, I couldn’t believe it was 85 Lansdowne. We always have high expectations from Shantanu, but he’s exceeded. I hope everyone in Calcutta appreciates it as much as the people who have come today,” said Shalini. Pooja felt it was “much more” than what they had visualised.

Baisakhi Ghosh (centre) of Baisakhi’s, flanked by celebrity draper Dolly Jain (right) and Nidhi Poddar of Emerald Events. “We did not want to make it very Indian. The whole idea was to give it a neutral platform,” said Baisakhi. Preparations started from August 21 and five lakh white flowers and 1.5-2 lakh roses were used.
