Furry Tales Dog Crèche collaborated with pet stores Furbabies and Calcutta Pawfect and organised a trip for pets to Mandarmani. Accompanied by pet parents, the furry babies had some splashy summer fun at the beach from May 5 to 7. The doggos went for a trip in large numbers, indulged in goofy fun and made countless memories. For all the little joys they bring to human lives, they very well deserved it!

Pet parents and their pooches travelled in a pre-booked Volvo bus and started on May 5. They put up at the Kiss of Sea hotel in Mandarmani and made great memories over the next three days and two nights. On boarding the bus to Mandarmani, the four-legged babies yelped with happiness, sniffed around and soaked in all the new scents and experiences they could. After sunset on the first day of the trip, the group gathered to celebrate Annie’s (a golden retriever) birthday with homemade bakes and treats. And that’s how the full-fledged vacation kick-started. The happiness painted on Annie’s face was a moment to remember! Day one was full of some strolling by the beach and indulging in some tasty dinner. Travelling on a bus seemed a little tiring for them, so they drifted off to sleep after their meal.

Day two was packed with fun by the beach. A massive crowd gathered at the seaside as 17 furbabies were seen taking a dip in the sea, wagging their tales and swimming away. From big dogs to small, all of them gathered and woofed around and kept it so cool! They played games like Sniff n Eat (a game to spot the treats), Follow the Command and some other activities and all got some furry chew toys as gifts. The Telegraph spoke to some happy pet parents and the organisers about the paw-cation.

Not just the four-leggeds, but the pet parents engaged in fun and frolic that they shall remember forever!

“I just wanted to give a BIG shoutout to Furry Tales and all the co-organisers for arranging the most amazing paw-cation to Mandarmani. My furbaby Donut, a two-year-old golden retriever, had an absolute blast at the beach and resort, and everything was taken care of,” said Donut’s mother Soumili Podder.

Not only was it tough and challenging, but the love and blessing from these beautiful souls made it possible. Once we reached Mandarmani and the babies smelt the sea, their happiness knew no bounds and this was the ultimate pleasure. We were prepared to attend to any medical emergencies related to the pets and had veterinarians on call. Also, handlers, groomers and para vets accompanied us throughout the trip,” said Sayantani Chatterjee and Saptarshi Dasgupta, founders and owners of Furry Tales Dog Crèche near Ruby Island. “The pet tour in Mandarmani was a huge success, offering a range of pet-friendly activities and a beautiful setting for owners to bond with their pets. The attendees had an unforgettable experience and are already looking forward to the next event,” said Avishek Mazumdar, owner of Furbabies that has branches at Sahid Nagar, Garfa and Narendrapur. “Travel is therapy for all of us, so we wanted the paw buddies to also experience this. Our aim was to offer a fun and unique experience for dog enthusiasts who wish to provide their pet dogs with a stress-free and enjoyable experience. We took the risk for the very first time in Calcutta and got so much love and support from each and every paw parent that we hope to plan another pet tour event super soon,” said Sreemoyee Mitra, owner of Calcutta Pawfect, located in Golf Green.
