Other opulent embellishments such as sequins, beads and pearls were sewed on to it,” explained Rashi. Designer Rashi Kapoor who launched her label in 2011 has come up with a brand new collection, Sandook that is defined by old-world charm and elegance, bringing forth an allure of exquisite craftsmanship and karigari. The collection is an inspiration and tribute to her mother’s style. “My mother has always been my biggest inspiration and strength. I was sitting and going through pictures of her in her old suitcase, reminiscing her grace and poise and the way she used to dress... that is when this collection was born,” said Rashi. The colour scheme boasts of interesting and off-beat shades that are a reflection of Rashi’s mother’s wardrobe. The designer explains: “My mother was always ahead of her time. When the world around her was wearing colours like reds and and bright pinks, my mother wore  jamuni, phalsa, peela, lilacs and a lot of berry colours. Her choice of colours was always a class apart.” Upon browsing through the collection we loved the timeless pieces with intricate work and a refreshing colour palette. Glimpses from Sandook...
