A cheerful and energetic vibe defined the mood of the Christmas eve celebrations at Ballantine’s Golf Retreat presents The Telegraph Tollygunge Club X-Mas Eve.

Held at the Far Pavilion of the club, the December chill was enjoyed by guests with the spirit of a happy and warm reunion of friends, family and colleagues. The al fresco set-up decked in Christmas decor with a view of the lush-green golf course added to the vibe of the celebration. Music non-stop with warm snacks and multiple tipple options on the table, and bonding over adda and dance, enlivened the ambience for members and guests to soak in the Christmas spirit.

Age was just a number on the dance floor as people aged 25 to 50 matched steps with their near and dear ones. The upbeat music kept the spirits high, and members and their guests let their hair down and partied with hands up in the air.

The Far Pavilion section of the club, the party spot for the evening, was decked in pretty fairy lights with green and red streamers and Santa caps that set the mood for  the guests.

The evening’s performances  started with Kamakshi Rai’s English tracks like Close Your Eyes, I Will Survive and moved on to popular Bollywood numbers like Khoya khoya chand and Kaisi paheli zindgani. “We had a mix set of English and Hindi songs,  including blues, vintage Broadway classics, jazzy Bollywood and all the classic numbers. A medley of everything I do best. It is a gorgeous place, singing amidst the golf greens and the members felt fantastic. They always dance to my tunes and I absolutely love that,” said Kamakshi. DJ Rahul’s playlist included classic English and Christmas numbers but later got people on the dance floor grooving to Bolly tracks, like Chammak challo, Dilliwaali girlfriend. “This was my first time at Tolly club. I love the crowd. It was fun to explore that,” said Rahul.

3) Saswata Chatterjee was back in the city to celebrate Christmas with wife Mohua and daughter Hiya.

4) We loved how Esha Dutta styled her look in the trendy hot pink.

Anil Mukerji (second from left), managing member and CEO of the Tollygunge Club, with his family (l-r) — son Adhiraj, wife Saswati and daughter Siya. “It was the return of the festive spirit at the Tolly Club. Guests had a wonderful evening with the food and ambience,” said Anil Mukerji.

Soma Majumder sported a trendy sequinned slit gown in the Christmas fave red, paired with a white jacket that she picked up in Bangalore.

We loved golf teacher Rukmini Mehta’s H&M boots paired with an LBD from Zara and Rashmi Mehta’s velvet wrap-around top paired with parallel trousers.

Akhil Kohli, regional manager of Mahindra and Mahindra, came to party with his colleagues. “This is my second time at Tolly Club. I had come here earlier with friends. I think the ambience is pretty awesome and I appreciate the arrangement. I love their service,” said Akhil.
