Analysing contemporary Indian wedding trends, one can notice that with the wedding rituals becoming elaborate and spanning across different events and days, the styling game has changed, too. It is all about dressing up glam yet simple, in statement outfits. People having the chance to dress up on multiple days, keep a mix of Western as well as traditional attires to flaunt.

Attending a sangeet night? Keep your attire smart and flirty in this blazer paired with wide-legged sharara pants. The pearl and ivory dual tone gives a classy vibe to this fun and contemporary look and the amalgamation of Indian and geometric patterns makes the motifs stand out

Pinki Sinha in her latest creative output taps into the trend, keeping her signature weaves intact, while experimenting with the designs, cuts and silhouette structures. The outcome is a collection of smart and statement pieces that are versatile, have a global appeal yet highlight India’s traditional crafts. Blazers, shirt jackets and trench coats paired with shararas and ghararas based on a colour palette that is an eclectic mix of pearl white, orchid violet, emerald green, charming raspberry and classic black, with brocade elevating the glam quotient, make up the mood board. Actress Madhurima Basak sports the looks for t2:

Benarasi is a wedding quintessential for many. Choose to carry the traditional charm in a trendy blazer silhouette for the wedding night. The violet coat with sharara pants, gelled-back straight hair, minimal statement earrings and nude lips add to the trendy global appeal of the occasionwear look. Ideal for a destination wedding or dressing comfy for a winter wedding.

Keep it simple. Keep it classy. The pocket kurta with straight raw silk pants in monotone purple with meenakari work on the kurta is dressy yet comfortable. Just right for walking into a wedding party straight from work.

DESIGNER SPEAK:

“The collection is based on luxurious silks and weaves this time, a little different from what I usually do. We have used a lot of geometric patterns. The ivory-pearl is one of my favourites because we have used geometric patterns and detailed it with Indian patterns inside. So, the designs are Western in appeal but Indian at heart. We have the metallic weaves coming on black, which gives it a full metallic look and the weaves on the silhouettes are giving all outfits a glamorous touch. I am excited about these new looks in brocade ghararas and shararas. Infusing it with colours like ivory-pearl and orchid colours and blacks, I feel this is gonna take over as a trend” — Pinki Sinha, designer
