Here are a few recommendations…

99 for #CheapThrills

You don’t need a deep pocket to have a wow time with friends. Head to 99, located at 122B, Southern Avenue (opposite Nazrul Mancha main gate), to celebrate Friendship Day over good food and some adda. 99 does justice to its name by serving its guests Corn Sundried Pizza for just Rs 99, which you can choose to wash down with Mango Mule, a spectacular mocktail, also priced at Rs 99.

Sienna Store & Cafe for cosy vibes and good food

Sienna Cafe at 49/1 Hindustan Park is a perfect hangout zone for a heartwarming adda over some scrumptious grub. Try out their Black Truffle & Scallion Butter Ravioli or the Basque Style Chena Poda Cheesecake with your buddies or dive right into their speakeasy menu.

While you’re there, make it extra special by picking the perfect gift for your BFF from the Sienna Store that tells the story of Bengal through its craft — be it casual menswear, khadi saris or handcrafted jewellery.

Craft Coffee, Ballygunge — for those who like it strong

If you ever wondered about the fascination of your friends for coffee, Craft Coffee, located at 26, Ballygunge Park, is probably the reason why. While soaking in the grandeur of this open-air cafe and fascinating conversations brewing among friends, order a Cortado for your bestie for just Rs 180. This caffeinated drink stands out for its unique brewing technique and the absence of frothy milk contributes to a stronger flavour.

The Bikers Cafe to fuel your drive

Friends with a need for speed would love this cafe’s biker-themed ambience on 31, Elgin Road, which gets you revved up to try their top food and cocktail offerings. Gorge on their Chicken Supreme on Fire Pizza, infused with rum, grilled chicken, peri peri chicken, olives, capsicum, onion, mozzarella and Italian pizza sauce. This one costs Rs 665. While at it, sip on a Vodkatini that’s made using vodka, vermouth and lime juice — at Rs 595 only. To top it all, the cafe has called upon singer Vishal Sharma to liven up the space with Bollywood songs this Friendship Day.

The Coffee House, Rajarhat, for time-tested friendships

Opposite Amity University in Action Area II, lies The Coffee House, a perfect hangout zone for people residing in New Town.

If you and your mates thrive on old-world charm, this cafe with its double-heighted ceiling, Corinthian columns, low hanging fans, and cantilever mezzanine floor, allows you to soak in the glory of yesteryear structures as you relish your plate of Crispy Fish Fingers at Rs 180, alongside a hot cup of coffee for Rs 30 only. Sounds great, right?
