Calcutta Swimming Club hosted Symphony — Chapter 1 in association with The Telegraph, a two-day festival of contemporary, popular music. Designed along the lines of large international music festivals or concerts, it offered a one-of-akind entertainment experience that appealed to the tastes of music lovers of all ages. Organised by the new entertainment committee of the club, this concert besides setting the benchmark for music events at the club at a new height, also marked the first season of a series of music shows that the club plans to arrange in the coming months. The theme for the first day was ‘Electronic Night’ and featured a performance by Lost Stories and DJ Greff from Mumbai. Popular musician duo Sachet and Parampara performed on the second evening along with DJ Peri from Delhi. Snapshots.

“This festival has shown where the club is headed in terms of next-generation entertainment and shows. Not only has it established a new benchmark in the quality of performance but also it is the first time that any club in Calcutta has seen this kind of set-up. “Apart from a fantastic music experience, we also arranged a special pop-up counter from Paharganj, Delhi. The iconic Chola Bhatura from Sitaram Diwanchand was an instant hit with members scrambling for a bite. Our sponsor Zobet and our in-house vendors also ensured that members and guests got superb choices in food and beverages,” said Gaurav and Meghna Chokhany, vice-president and entertainment chairman respectively of Calcutta Swimming Club.
