Speaking to My Kolkata before taking centre stage, the band members expressed their joy on performing in front of a packed audience on Nabo Barsho, saying, “It is an honour for us to perform at such a stage that celebrates Bangaliana. To close off an event like Poila Parbon on Bengali New Year is something really special. These kind of events are important for us to connect with the next gen of fans, showing them the beauty of Bangla folk music”

The final day of Poila Parbon also featured the poster launch for the latest Eken Babu adventure – The Eken- Benaras e Bibhishika. Anirban Chakrabarti, who has brought the role of the Bengali detective to life, said, “Eken as a character is very different to what I am in real life and that is something that helps me bring the role to life. Eken babu is one such character who has connected with fans across ages. I hope the upcoming film is just as well received.”

With lots of stalls selling accessories, these cute trinkets were much in demand. Mostly for gifting purposes, there were bangles, rings and even earrings for prices as low as Rs 25, while there were also more intricate jewellery on offer
