Mumbai, Nov. 20 (PTI): Actress Manisha Koirala (picture on right) will enact the role of Indira Gandhi in a Hindi feature film on the life and times of the internationally acclaimed leader.

The project was launched on the occasion of the 85th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi at a function here last night.

Titled Indira Gandhi — a tryst with destiny, the film is produced by Nittin Keni on behalf of Maharani Padmini Devi Prathisthan headed by former mp Uttamsingh Pawar.

The film is being directed by N. Chandra. Kamleshwar who wrote Aandhi and has conceptualised the new project for which Hridyanath Mangeshkar will score the music.

Keni, who produced the highly successful Gadar for Zee, said: “The film is a biographical sketch of Indira Gandhi. We are not going to fictionalise it or exhibit any bias while making the film but there will be a strong emphasis on objectivity.”
