XLRI Jamshedpur to host ‘Alumni Homecoming 2022’ on Dec 10-11

This year, 1972 Batch will join for their ‘Golden Jubilee Celebration’: B-school release

Country’s oldest B-school, XLRI Jamshedpur, which claims to have the most active alumni networking among India’s B-schools will host ‘Alumni Homecoming 2022’ on December 10-11 this year.

XLRI Jamshedpur, established in 1949, whose alumni association has alumni chapters in several Indian cities and abroad is expecting participation of over 200 ‘XL Alumni’ in this year’s Homecoming which is being conducted after a gap of two years (due to Covid-induced restrictions), stated a communique issued by the B-school on Thursday.

“This year, 1972 Batch will join for their ‘Golden Jubilee Celebration’. Many alumni of Batch of 1980 and 1984 will also be coming for Homecoming year celebrations this year,” the release added.

On the occasion, XLRI will also conduct the ‘Distinguished Alumnus Awards Ceremony’ on December 10. This year, 10 select distinguished alumni of the institution would be felicitated in six categories.

The Distinguished Alumnus Awards are categorised as, distinguished Alumnus Award — lifetime achievement, distinguished Alumnus Award — practising manager, distinguished Alumnus Award — academician, distinguished Alumnus Award — young achiever, distinguished Alumnus Award — entrepreneur, distinguished Alumnus Award — allied field.

Speaking about the Alumni Homecoming 2022, Fr. S George S.J., Director, XLRI Jamshedpur-Xavier School of Management said: “After 2 years, we are conducting the Alumni Homecoming. I am sure this reunion will take all our alumni down the memory lane. We take pride in our distinguished alumni who are contributing to the growth of society, our nation and other countries. We are also proud of the fact that many of our Alumni are occupying coveted positions within India and also abroad. XLRI Family is looking forward to welcoming them back to the campus and felicitating them for their achievements,” said XLRI Jamshedpur director Father S. George.

Significantly, XLRI alumni association has alumni chapters both in India and abroad. In India, the XLRI alumni chapters are in Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Mumbai and Pune.

“XLRI also has alumni chapters in Singapore and Dubai. In the US, it has chapters in San Jose (covering Bay Area), Dallas (covering the State of Texas), Washington DC, New Jersey, New York, Boston (covering New England), Chicago (covering the mid-west region), as well as in Toronto (Canada),” said a release issued by the institute.

“XLRI has the most active networking of Alumni amongst Indian Business Schools. Every year the alumni chapters have their get-togethers in cities across India and abroad. In 2008 alumni association created the XLRI Endowment Fund (XEF) and XEF USA is a registered non-profit association,” said a senior faculty with XLRI.
