Jamshedpur, July 20: Having conducted a trial run for the 18 boys who turned up from different parts of the state, the Jharkhand Basketball Association (JBA) seems to have concluded that it has to wait longer for cagers with the right height for the the forthcoming National Games in Jharkhand.
Only a few of the boys who reported today at the JRD Tata Sports Complex had a good height.
The JBA, which is still hopeful of getting better players from the state in the next couple of days, is also banking on getting players from outside the state.
“We are screening the first lot who have arrived here. More are expected to come. We have decided to host a two phase conditioning camp for the cagers. The screening process would be on during the ongoing camp,” said J.P. Singh, the chief coach.
JBA officials maintained that the list of probables would be announced in a couple of days after ascertaining the performance of all the participants in the trials.
A team of girl cagers is also scheduled to come from Ranchi for the trials.
The names would be announced once players for both the categories have been shorlisted.
