U-19 cricket squad named

Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) announced a 15-member squad for the next two matches of the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy.

Jamshedpur, Nov. 28: Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) announced a 15-member squad for the next two matches of the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy.

Jharkhand will take on Gujarat in their next match to be held at Valsad from December 5 to 8 and then play Saurashtra at Rajkot from December 12 to 15. The selected players have been requested to report on Sunday (November 29) by 5pm at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. The team will leave for Valsad on December 2.

Ranchi-based Wilfred Beng will lead the side which comprises Pranay Kumar, Anurag Sanjay, Kumar Suraj, Himanshu Kumar Singh (West Singhbhum), Chandan Mukhi, Junaid Ashraf (Jamshedpur), Sushant Singh, Vijay Jena (Ranchi), Vibhooti Bhaskar, Istekhar Ahmad (Dhanbad), Amit Kumar (Lohardaga), Anukul Roy (Seraikela-Kharsawan), Shubham Kumar Singh (Deogarh) and Vinayak Vikram (Khunti).

JSCA secretary Rajesh Verma said the state colt side was balanced and some of the boys were in good form.

"Our team has played well in the earlier three matches. So, we expect them to continue with the momentum," he added.

Jharkhand U-19 has so far played three matches - versus Punjab, Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu in the Group B league matches. The state will play Jammu and Kashmir in their last league outing in Bokaro.
