Bhubaneswar, June 22: The Orissa government has decided to complete the transfer of teachers by the end of this month. The transfer process will be in keeping with its new policy for teachers of both government and private colleges.
Orissa higher education minister Samir Dey said according to the new policy, the transfer of a government college teacher would be effected if he/she has completed eight years in a college. For a private college teacher, the time limit has been extended to 15 years.
For the non-teaching staff members of a college, the tenure has been fixed at 20 years after which they would be transferred to other institutions. The minister said every college teacher has to work in the KBK districts for a minimum of three years following which the teacher concerned will be transferred to a place of his/her choice. He added that the transfer order will not be altered once it is issued.
