Examinees of CBSE Class X and XII are likely to score more in mathematics this time.
Officials of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) asked head examiners to introduce step marking in the paper during a meeting at DPS-Bokaro on Sunday afternoon.
Around 46 head examiners from across Jharkhand and Bihar were present at the meeting that was presided over by Rashmi Tripathi, the regional officer of CBSE (Bihar and Jharkhand zone). Arvind Kumar, the assistant secretary of CBSE-Patna, also attended the meeting.
"An elaborate exercise has started to overhaul the way our examiners evaluate answer scripts. Examiners must maintain transparency while checking papers. They should follow the marking scheme chalked out by the CBSE. For instance, even if the answer is not correct, the child will get marks for attempting the question. Besides, there ought to be step marking," said Tripathi.
Resource person B.A. Kumar, who is also the principal of DAV School in Giridih, explained the marking system through a Powerpoint presentation.
Tripathi also chose the occasion to inaugurate Hercules - a state-of-the-art multigym at DPS-Bokaro.
"For a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise and simple workouts are required," said Tripathi while praising the efforts of DPS authorities.
School principal and director Hemlata S. Mohan discussed the cradle's achievements while laying stress on holistic development of children.
